A few years ago, scientist Bill Lembeck speculated on how many bubbles was in a bottle of Champagne. He obtained the astonishing number of 49 million bubbles per bottle.

HOW MANY BUBBLES ARE IN A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE?
That’s right, someone really

has tried to count them. His name is Bill Lembeck and he’s a professional engineer. His answer: 49 million. How did he arrive at that figure?

Bill Lembeck’s calculations of a few years ago are correct. According to Beekmanwine.com, Lembeck calculated the volume of an average Champagne bubble to be 69 millionths of a milliliter, and from there he figured that there are 49 million bubbles in one 750 milliliter bottle. If I were to pay $200 for that bottle, I’d be paying $40.05 for those 9,800,000 bubbles. The figure is simply unfathomable.

AmeriHypobaric Research Scientist, Bill Lembeck, “the average number of bubbles
in a bottle of Champagne is about 49 million”.
